Assignment:

Our class will be choosing a piece of artwork created by either F. Goya, El Greco, D. Velazques, P. Picasso or S. Dali. You will present biographical information on the artist, a historical context of the piece as well as an analysis of the artwork they chose.

Where the painter was when it was painted (city, country)
Historical (or personal life) context during the time the work was created
Important images and what they represent in the work
Important styles/techniques that appear in the work
The message the artist wanted to present
Vocabulary that you & your fellow students don't know with translation to English (minimum of 7 words required)
Written activity (worksheet - same paper as vocabulary sheet) - You need to come with 20 copies on day of presentation
A question to the class that encourages them to analyze the painting. It must be a thought-provoking question, NOT "Where is the dwarf located in Las Meninas"
